I met Naomi and Thomas last fall when they decided to drive their VW bus down to Asheville for their engagement photos. Not only was I late to their engagement session, but I got lost in the parkway, so I was 2 HOURS late. (Not one of my proudest moments) Despite my tardiness, they kept me as their wedding photographer. (Thank goodness because I was dying to shoot them with their bus more!)
Their wedding was one of the most beautiful, intimate weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting. We started the day with a first look that lasted longer than my normal first looks. I had Naomi walk up behind Thomas and hold him for a few minutes. Just talking to each other and me taking a few photos while they calmed their nerves. And then, we finally let them turn around at the same time! What a MAGICAL first look it was!
After the first look, they exchanged gifts, did photos with themselves, photos with family and photos with their bridal party before the ceremony. Those days go by so much smoother when everything is done before the ceremony! I LOVE IT!
During their ceremony, Naomi and Thomas read the most beautiful personal vows to each other, and then did a foot cleanse/washing. The foot cleansing is supposed to rid of your past, so that you can start over with your spouse and I believe God. Don’t quote me on that last part, as I am not religious myself. But I believe that was the point of it! The entire ceremony, reception, and wedding day itself was perfect.
Naomi and Thomas– Thank you so much for letting me be part of your big day! I wish you both the most in this world. You are two amazing people who found your soul mates at a young age. I can’t wait to see what life has to offer you both in the future.
Big thank you to my 2nd shooter, Kate, for spending the ENTIRE day with me! You are amazing! <3
