How do I even BEGIN to talk about Kaiti + Kim’s wedding…? First off, it was one of the most detail oriented and family oriented weddings that I have ever been to. Kim’s family is very religious. So religious in fact that one of the siblings wouldn’t attend the wedding with his wife and children. I had the chance to sit down with her dad and talk more about their religion. And this is the thing… despite the fact that his religion doesn’t allow for same sex weddings, and that he was raised to believe it wasn’t the proper thing to do… he still went above and beyond to make this a special day for his daughter and Kaiti. He told me that even though their religion didn’t believe in this, he knew that he would never get to be a part of Kim’s life if he didn’t support her and their marriage. This barn was a working cattle barn a few weeks before the wedding. Everyone pitched in and cleaned it out and began decorating.
Then you get to Kim and Kaiti and you realize what two absolutely amazing, fun, family oriented people they are. One of their biggest requests for the day, was to get lots of photos of their nieces and nephews all playing and believe me… pretty sure we accomplished that. Bubbles to the face, icing all over their faces, children of the corn. Yes, they were amazing! The Zuercher family donated all of the veggies and drinks! And Kaiti’s family made all of those amazing cheesecakes. I could post probably 20 photos of cheesecakes. (Not even joking. So many flavors!)
There were so many little surprises during the day! Lego cakes that Kim had made to look their lego figurines! A gorgeous wedding band that Kaiti and Kim said were out of the budget but Kaiti bought anyways and surprised Kim with! Just so many little, romantic, perfect moments!
Kaiti + Kim, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for 1. being so amazing 2. for letting me part of your big day and 3. making me feel like part of the family the moment you started emailing me! You two are absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to see where life takes you!
