Alright guys! Finally! I am finally able to share my Iceland trip with you!
I know… i’ve been promising this for months. Wedding season got crazy, and of course, I don’t want to hang our couples hanging so I can work on personal projects. I’m so excited to share that two couples have contacted me about eloping there. My heart is bursting with love! I can’t wait to go back to this AMAZING country!
We spent the trip driving from location to location in our awesome camper van. It’s much more convenient if you want to see the country, than a hotel or airbnb. You can drive as much or as little as you’d like and just find a nice campground to park in. It was about $10-$15 per person to park in the campground and an extra $3 for a shower! (Most of the larger attractions, like waterfalls, turn their parking lots into campgrounds at night.) Driving the entire time also gives you PLENTY of time to jam out to Of Monsters and Men who just happen to be from Iceland. They are my most recent obsession. Also, don’t forget to eat a hot dog. I know… what a silly thing to say. But seriously. Best. hot. dogs. ever. We may have ate 1-3 hot dogs per day.
Some things you’ll notice while scrolling through photos… there are a lot of road shots. What can I say… these winding, gorgeous roads were perfect to photograph. Also, it was cloudy pretty much the entire time we were there. Most people we talk to say it was extremely windy and rainy while they visited, so lucky us. I think it only rained one day the entire week we were there. Also, there are beautiful churches every where in Iceland. and I have a slight obsession with black architecture, so I wanted to find as many black buildings as possible. One of my favorite photos is the black hotel! We didn’t stay there, but I surely would love to on my next trip.
If you have questions about the locations, please let me know. However, I am starting to become part of the LNT program, and this country could use a TON of that. The tourists are definitely taking over. I can’t talk about tourists, because I obviously am one. However, there are some tourists who leave trash everywhere, shit in farmer’s yards, and leave dirty clothes all over hot springs to rot. If you visit Iceland, please realize how amazing the country is, and treat it with respect. We only have one planet… we need to take care of it.
I apologize in advance for the number of photos. I REALLY tried to narrow them down and couldn’t bare to leave out anymore than I already did. Enjoy <3
Huge thanks to Christopher Zachary Photography for the photos of me!
