As soon as Cassidy contacted me about her and Daniel’s elopement, I knew it was going to be amazing. They wanted a laid back, mountaintop elopement with their immediate families. After reviewing a few locations, they hiked up this trail on the blue ridge parkway and decided it would be the perfect place to exchange their vows.
Cassidy, her mother and her sisters spent the morning with Anarie getting their hair and makeup done. (They always kill it. If you’re eloping and looking for hair and makeup… Ali and her amazing team at Anarie are the ones I always, always, always recommend to my brides!) Once they arrived to our location, we found the tiniest little trail to hang Cassidy’s dress and she got ready in the middle of the woods. Perfection is an understatement. While Cassidy got ready, Daniel’s family started hiking to the top of the mountain, including his 70+ year old grandmother! YES! Daniel’s grandmother was able to attend their elopement. (I’ve told you before, elopements aren’t always just for the couple. Families are more than welcome to attend if they wanted.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet and to the point. No kidding… they lucked out on weather! It was the perfect day! No rain, minimal wind. The mountains were in full sun so you could see the mountain ranges for DAYS. When the night came to an end, the mountains decided to show off and give us one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. What an amazing day.
Cassidy + Daniel– I wish you both the best in life. A life full of rooftop tent camping and exploration. I hope to see you guys in about a year… on top of another mountain for an anniversary session. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your big day!
